Before your first recording

A short checklist for turning a meeting into notes you can use. Start with a meeting you already need to attend—not a test call just to try the recorder.

  1. Tell everyone

Get any permissions required by your organization and local law before recording. Tell participants that a visible notetaker will join. Do not record if anyone objects or you do not have permission. Review the terms and privacy information during signup; recording availability depends on eligibility and account access.

  2. Connect your calendar

Create your account, review the onboarding choices, and connect the calendar that contains your meeting. Check the requested permissions before continuing. A connected calendar is preparation—not a completed recording.

  3. Choose a meeting

Check your dashboard for the meeting you want recorded and its meeting link. Let the host know to expect the notetaker and admit it if appropriate. A host’s access rules can prevent it from joining; do not weaken those rules or assume that a scheduled meeting was recorded.

  4. Review your notes

After the meeting, check its status. When the recording and notes are ready, review the decisions and next steps. Check important details against the transcript or audio before acting on them. Ask a focused question such as “What did we decide, and what still needs an owner?”

For your next meeting, revisit the previous decisions and open questions. Useful follow-through matters more than recording every call.
